CHARACTER NAVAGATING ENVIRONMENT
This was my first project in our Advanced Character Animation class during the Fall of 2023. I went through multiple different camera iterations and changes in general. I ended with 89 Maya incremented files and this is one of the first projects in our animation class.
VERSION #89 (SUBMISSION)
This was my last iteration that I submitted for a grade. I think I did alright with the animation. I left it as iteration #4 and not the "final animation" as our animations are never final and I intend to go back and refine this animation later for my demo reels and applications. I would also like to render this out so it is not just a playblast with no lighting.
VERSION #84
I was re-adjusting the camera angles and poses in this iteration. I also starting adding on the jump at the end of the animation. I grabbed different references for the jump. For many of these projects, I am focused on realistic animation rather than stylized within this project. I want to be able to accurately show the weight so I understand the basics of animating in 3d before I jump into areas I don't know yet.
VERSION #64
This was my first iteration after feedback from my professor. He thought it would help to change the camera angle and to make sure I am getting good silhouettes and poses from the character. This is also the first time that I have used IK controls on the hands for a character so it was an interesting experiment to help me understand how the rigs and characters work.
VERSION #45 (BLOCKING)
This was the blocking phase to this part of my project. I was using the Stewart Rig from Animation Mentors. In this assignment, we were focusing on how our characters move their weight around and how they navigate their environment and surroundings. I choose to do a simple slide as most of my classmates were doing jumps and aerial movement while I wanted to interact with the ground and surfaces.
