In the past week, I have been working on finalizing the cameras for our film. We still have a big chunk so the film can have a cinematographic feel, but I think it will be worth it. I have also been working on creating the dress simulations and managing rendering tests for our film.

We wanted to see if there would be any issues with rendering so we are testing it early with some simple shots. We ran into some issues with the color space management, I knew this would be an issue as it has caused issues for me in the past.

After some troubleshooting on the official Autodesk Maya webpage, I found out that I needed to install a plugin to help manage my color spaces after I have already rendered my shots. I also learned after a while that I didn't actually need that plugin and Adobe directly built it into Photoshop and After Effects. Our colors will be more accurate now and we solved this problem.

We also had some bugs when rendering the shot where Basil jumps off of the counter. The bottles in the back shouldn't be rendering that black and the lights are too strong in this shot. We couldn't figure out why it was rendering like this, but when we go back a version, it fixes itself.

Also with this color space management and rendering bugs, I have been simulating our dress for many shots. I have run into many issues with the shot were Basil jumps off the counter as well. The way Basil's dress is designed creates weird situations where her front hanging cloth part is wild and has a mind of its own.

For the future, I will continue working on the cameras, animation, and dress simulations (along with troubleshooting any issues we run into).
