This week has been a really simple work week with the goal of creating a finished animatic by our first production pass on February 16th, 2024. This is week 4 since the start of the semester.
Concept Art:
There hasn't been much progress on our character development. We are focusing on refining the design that we have currently have and creating a turntable for our main character, Basil. Most of the color palette, clothing, and style have been thought through and we will get any feedback from other groups.
In terms of exterior environment design, we don't really have anything close to finalized drafts. We just have rough sketches.

The interior environment design is going very well, we have a floor plan of the entire apothecary along with front, left, right, and back views. Our front view is completely colored and has a great idea of where we are trying to go with this project.
Story:
We have made tons of progress with the story this week. We started looking through the storyboards we have created and realized that we needed to take a step backwards to create beat boards and a better idea of the story than what we had. We changed the entire premise of the story so it is no longer a love story between two people. We have re-written the story to concern the mental health of our character and to make the story about Basil over-working herself and holding back her emotions.

Teammates:
This week and some of the previous weeks, we have run into issues with group members attending class late which can delay our schedule and this is turning into a recurring problem so we are attempting to figure out why this issue even exists and what we can do to prevent it in the future.
We have also started running into problems with group members not hitting deadlines or even working on this project at all. I understand that drawing and creating storyboards/concept art may not be a strong suit for certain team members but they still need to try and put effort into any of the work that they do. When they have nothing to show for weeks, it is starting to affect the team and our schedule in a negative way.
If these issues continue to persist we may need to request Jeremy's help in developing strategies to prevent tardiness to class and how to keep a strong work ethic. Hopefully we will not need to involve Jeremy in any of our affairs, but there is always a chance.
